RM 1916
Rosary Model 1916
DI ROMA WWI Mil-Spec Service Rosary built to 1916 military standards. Constructed from United States manufactured brass ball chain, chemically treated to reduce glare, and built to withstand the harsh environment or war.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not create WWI "inspired" combat rosaries. We build them like our company's namesake did over 100 years ago.
CRUCIFIX VARIATIONS IN PRODUCTION
Just like when they were originally issued in 1916, the crucifix on these rosaries can vary. When the original rosaries were produced at the time, they were manufactured using what was readily available in order to supply the great demand of the United States Armed Services. The pull-chain specs and centerpieces used in manufacturing remained uniform, but the crucifixes varied. Your rosary will contain a period-appropriate crucifix that may vary from the one shown in our photos. In fact, many times the crucifix you will receive on your rosary will actually be a vintage piece from the era that Di Roma has recovered.
PRODUCTION TIME
The modern day Di Roma Co. does not produce these rosaries on assembly lines. They are carefully built by hand to ORIGINAL WWI military specs using American Manufactured Ball Chain, and parts that are no longer mass produced. Our original centerpieces must be hand poured using original molds, and our crucifixes are usually recycled from antique, period-appropriate rosaries that are no longer usable. Please allow up to 2 weeks for your rosary to ship, depending on demand.
